In April 2021, Cxffeeblack kicked off a GoFundMe campaign to help raise enough capital to get members of the Memphis coffee company to Ethiopia. After raising $25,000, that dream became a reality in late October when the crewโs plane touched down in Addis Ababa, kicking off a two-week origin trip in the Guji Zone some 200km away (where else did you think the coffee company behind Guji Mane would go?).
And now, the Cxffeeblack team is ready to share their experience visiting Ethiopian coffee farms in a new documentary Cxffeeblack to Africa, and the first trailer is out now!
The full documentary will officially premier as part of the Color of Coffee Collective‘s Symposium in Houston, Texas. Taking place Saturday, May 14th at The Ion, The Symposium continues the mission of the Color of Coffee Collectiveโ”a group of unique and talented minority coffee growers, farmers, producers, roasters, creatives, and coffee enthusiasts”โto provide “education about the specialty coffee industry from a different perspective.”
From there, the Cxffeeblack To Africa World Tour 2022 will make stops in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, the Bay Area, Toronto, New York, Memphis, and Atlanta. For more information about screenings, visit Cxffeeblack’s official website.
