Few things stir the coffee industry like the launch of a new La Marzocco espresso machine. Over the last few months anticipation has grown about a new, smaller, and less expensive successor to the La Marzocco Linea Mini, which launched in 2015 and has proven to be a major disruptor to the home espresso machine market. Now here in 2022 we can officially report on the release of the next espresso machine in the La Marzocco Home line: The La Marzocco Linea Micra.
Teased in message board leaks appearing in late October, Micra’s debut comes amidst building hype: the machine is smaller in every way than the Linea Mini, with a 30% reduction in footprint and a smaller price tag, per LM Senior Product Manager Scott Guglielmino. “Micra isย the first time weโve set out to make a trulyย home espresso machine, one that lives up to the standards of La Marzocco,” Guglielmino tells Sprudge. “Reliability, high performance, and consistency are what we pride ourselves on, and this is a temperature stable home espresso machine that will last a lifetime.”
“If you have a need for light commercial, or plan to someday serve coffee at your local farmers market, the Linea Mini is a great choice,” adds Guglielmino. “But if you’re looking for the right home espresso option for daily use or the ultimate dinner party machine, the Micra is perfect.”
